Onions
Onions were cultivated by the ancient Egyptians over 5,000 years ago. They used onions as currency to pay workers and also placed them in royal tombs. They have been used medicinally in India for over 1500 years.
Onions come in many varieties, which differ greatly in appearance and taste. Generally speaking, the more pungent the onion, the stronger its healing properties, with shallots topping the list, followed by yellow onions.
